Description

A large copper engraving of the city of Ghent from a bird's eye view: "Ghent a large city and castle in Flanders, twice taken by y Duke of Marlborough. Viz. in year 1706 & 1708". I[saac] Basire Sculpt (engraver). For Mr Tindal's continuation of Mr Rapin's History of England. Published in London ca 1750. 
With detailed legend (1-81) of markets, churches and buildings.
Framed in a beautiful wooden frame, slightly damaged. Glass broken. We can repair it if desired.
Frame dimensions: 67,5 * 58cm, passe-partout/engraving: 49,5 * 38 à 38,5 cm. From antiquarian bookstore R. Van Bladel, Antwerp.
