Description

This antique copper engraving shows the troops of Count Johan Casimir of Palts-Simmern and Niclas von Hatstat near the Moselle and Strasbourg. Similar prints show the date of December 8, 1576 for this battle. The engraving is colored by hand, including with gold paint on the clothing. More info: https:rlp.museum-digital.de/object/77926
Published by Frans & Abraham Hogenberg, in one of the series of historical prints between 1569 and 1627, including many battles and sieges from the Eighty Years' War.
